McCain comes out with the short end of the stick in the comparison, but it bothers me that Clinton and Obama basically just propose more direct government aid. More government spending = more wasted money.

How about more tax breaks for philanthropers? Unfortunately Clinton and Obama both support raising taxes on the upper class, precisely the people most involved in the creation of wealth as well as philanthropic giving.
